Personal Finance App Ranking Accumulates Wealth

In our personal finances, sometimes we save, sometimes we spend.

In the latest edition of PYMNTS’ Provider Ranking of Personal Finance Apps, this is a month of accumulation, with the top 10 expanding to include 13 apps.

Highlights this month include the three tie scores that made room for all those apps, the returning leaders that are again holding the top three spots in the rankings and this month’s biggest mover and shaker that has added 12 points to its score since last month.

Now, let’s take a look at the books and see how things stand.

The Top Five

Topping the list with a score of 99 is Chime. This app was ranked first last month, too.

Running just two points behind with a score of 97 is Stash, which holds on to the No. 2 spot in the rankings.

Just two points behind that with a score of 95 is Robinhood. Like the competitors ahead of it, this app returns to the position it held last time.

Breaking the pattern, Mint has found a new spot for itself this month, moving up one position and resting at fourth. Its score this time is 92.

Bumped out of its previous position, Albert Save And Spend Smarter drops one spot to fifth. This app checks in this month with a score of 89.

The Top 10

The No. 6 spot is shared by two apps that have made big leaps in the rankings since last time. Emma Budget Manager has moved up three positions from ninth, while myWisely Financial Wellness has jumped four positions from tenth. Each has earned a score of 77.

Bumped out of that position, Current lands at No. 7 with a score of 75.

The eighth spot in the rankings is shared by Acorns, which has dropped one level since last time, and Fidelity Investments, which was here last month. Each has a score of 73.

Joining this month’s top 10 at No. 9 is EveryDollar. With a score of 68, this app has added 12 points to its score since last month, making it this month’s biggest mover and shaker.

Two more newcomers share the tenth spot in the rankings. SoFi and Wallet each have a score of 61 and earn a place in the top 10 of PYMNTS’ Provider Ranking of Personal Finance Apps.
